Give til it hurts!

Isn't that what they say? Well, that's what I'm doing!

My Team in Training experience has had it's share of bumps and bruises. You all saw the lovely picture of my scabby knee. You've heard about my bum ankle and my lack of motivation. Of course, my knee has healed and my motivation is back. I got my custom orthopedics last week and my ankle feels great! I ran in the Papa John's 10-miler on Saturday and finished just under 2 hours. I was very happy!

After a great race on Saturday, I was more than ready to train this week. I ran 8 miles on Tuesday and 7.5 yesterday. As I was finishing my run yesterday afternoon, I felt like my right eye was running. When I walked in the door, Big Daddy gasped! I looked in the mirror and my eye was extremely swollen. I rinsed it with some cold water and went to the kitchen to get some Gatorade. As I stood there drinking and chatting with BD, he said my eye was getting worse and now my left eye was swelling as well! I'm pretty sure it was an allergic reaction of some sort. The pollen levels here in KY are out of control. Not only that, I brushed the top of my head on a flowering tree just as I finished my run. BD walked me upstairs to take a shower to make sure there was no pollen or irritants in my eyes or hair.

I felt better after the shower, but my eyes/face were still swollen. Here is the UGLY evidence...

This is what I looked like at 8:00 last night!

I took thinks very easy today. BD got up with the kids and drove them to school. I pretty much stayed in bed/on the couch all day. I took some Benadryl, but the only thing that seems to be helping is good old time.

24 hours later...just looks like I have some makeup smeared under my eyes. I'm hoping it's all better tomorrow. As much as I love staying in bed all day, I do have some things to do!

Oh and yes, that's the same sweatshirt I had on last night. Well, it can't get dirty laying in bed all day, right?
