Date Nights

Yep, I said nights, plural! Big Daddy and I have been kid free since yesterday morning. J, R and M are at their mother's until Saturday and T is on a school trip until Saturday. Yesterday BD and I went out for breakfast, then we separated to run some errands. Later we hooked back up for dinner and a night on the town! What a wonderful time! We just had fun hanging out together, it was just like when we first met! :)

We slept in this morning and by sleeping in, I mean I just got up! We have plans to do some shopping together and later tonight we have a party to go to for one of my Team In Training friends! Another great day as a couple!

Of course, I miss the kids and don't worry we've talked to each of them several times! We also leave for our Spring vacation on Sunday morning. We will be spending the week in the Great Smoky Mountains! We have a beautiful cabin rented in Gatlinburg, TN. I can't wait to get some great nature pics and hopefully we'll see a bear or two! (From a safe distance, of course!)

(This is a pic we found while browsing for info on G-burg! As long as you were in the cabin wouldn't this be amazing?!?)

***Speaking of the kids, I just had to take a break to answer a phone call from R! Damn kids are so needy! (just kidding!)***

Now, off to get ready for another lovely day with my hubby!

Sick, sick, sick

The boys have the flu! All of them! JJ was home from school Monday and Tuesday. Big Daddy didn't work Tuesday and Wednesday and Mr T came home from school yesterday and is still in bed. They ran high fevers, had aches and pains and just slept for days!

The girls and I have not (KNOCK ON WOOD) picked it up yet, so hopefully we will be able to enjoy the weekend.

I have been resting my ankle though. Training for the marathon has been causing it's share of expected aches and pains, but my right ankle has been steadily feeling worse. I've been getting some treatment from our Sports Therapist and he told me to take it easy on training this week. I think I can do that! ;) Aside from walking up and down (and up and down!) the steps to baby my sick boys, I have just been taking it easy.

And on that note, I am going to head upstairs with the after lunch ice cream and a round of meds.

My sweet husband

Big Daddy knows just how very upset I have been about Coleman's passing. He sent this to me last night...

I love him.

My Christmas Roses

Sometimes my husband still surprises me.
What better surprise is there?

Big Daddy brought me these on Tuesday evening!

I love Christmas cards!

I was beginning to get a little sad because I had only received seven cards, well eight if you count the one from Domino's Pizza! Anyway, I am happy to say I was no less than thrilled to open the mailbox today!

Lots of greetings from friends and family!

Oh and Remember how I said I like all my packages to match? Here is what Big Daddy thinks about that...

Beautiful, huh?

Wonderful Weekend

This weekend, JJ, RED and Kitty were with their Mommie Dearest and Mr. T was away on a school field trip so, Big Daddy and I took advantage of the free time and spent Thursday and Friday nights at the lovely Belterra Casino Resort and Spa.

These are some pictures from inside the resort. It really is beautiful!

We didn't gamble much. We played a few slot machines and some video poker, but that's all. We did however EAT a lot! Big Daddy also made an appointment for me to get a massage. It was wonderful! We just spent a lot of time hanging out with each other and relaxing. It was a great way to recharge the batteries before the hectic holiday season!

Here's my Big Daddy on the phone outside the Buffet.
He really never stops working!

Christmas Crafts

Tonight before dinner we did a Christmas craft. Hopefully this will be the first of several crafts this season. This was a quick and easy craft. Perfect for a school night! So without further ado, here's what we crafted!

The kids worked very hard....

and here are a couple of our magnets/ornaments...

or, you know, whatever they turned out to be!

Where was Big Daddy, you ask?

(that's ok, he was out working very late last night)

Do you get Thanksgiving presents?

I guess I do!

Big Daddy brought me a new Coach purse tonight!

Why? Just because, he said!

I told you I love this guy!

I'm thankful for...

My husband
aka Big Daddy!

I truly love my husband. He makes me very happy and has given me a lifestyle that I thought I could have only dreamed of!

Big Daddy and I met almost seven years ago in May 2002. Our relationship progressed rather quickly, but we made sure to take things slow, as there were (many) kids involved. We were married in a private ceremony (complete with a drunk minister!) in September 17, 2004.

We've had our share of ups and downs as a couple and as a family, but that is what truly makes a relationship work. If there were no bad times, you would not really appreciate the good times.

So to my DH: Thank you for all you do for us. Thank you for always making me feel beautiful and young. Thank you for making it possible for me to stay at home and take care of our family and home. Thank you for sharing your children with me. And most of all thank you for sharing your life with me. We have many more Thanksgivings in front of us and I look forward to them all!

This is one of my favorite pictures of all time!

Happy Halloween!

When I got home from school on Friday, Big Daddy had decorated the house for Trick or Treaters. He did a wonderful job! We don't usually wait until the last minute, but BD wanted to do a graveyard, and all the tombstones kept blowing away in the wind, so we had to leave it for Halloween night. Of course, not one tombstone blew away over the weekend!

Of course, we dressed up. The kids were with their mother this year and Mr. T chose not to Trick or Treat so this was for all the kids who stopped by. Yep...all 10 of them!

T was a character I believe he called "Big Pimpin!"

The afro and goatee were incredibly realistic!

Big Daddy was something scary. I don't know..a crypt-keeper, a ghoul, an evil magician. Whatever it was there was one little girl who refused to come get her candy from him!

And me? Well, TA-DA! I was Wonder Woman!

Well, alright, her chubby kid sister, maybe???

MIA, AWOL, whatever...

My loyal readers reader Sister was wondering where I have been this week. Well, just hanging out and being cool!

The kids are on Fall Break this week and we have been enjoying their time off.

Saturday...
CC Meet. No pictures because I took the dog.
He was worn out when we got home!

Red did not run, she wasn't feeling well. T did well and came in first for his team as usual (I wouldn't brag like that!) I did get one pic after the meet. Check out his number from the race...LUCKY?!? His birthday is October 30!

Then Mr. T was off to go camping with my parents.

I spent Saturday afternoon with Sister (my loyal reader!) We went to lunch and did some shopping. It was a fun time!

With no kids in the house, Saturday night was Date Night! We had dinner and drinks and just hung out together. It was so nice!
Having fun...alone!

We even stayed out late! See....

Sunday...
After that late night, Sunday was a very lazy day. We slept in and picked T up in the evening.

Monday...
See Sunday.

Tuesday...
Mr. T and I spent the day at the Pumpkin Patch. Check for a more detailed post on that later!

So, that's been our week! Pretty fun, yet relaxing. Mr. T's birthday party is Saturday, so I need to spend the next few days catching up on chores and getting ready for the party.
