Enjoying the weather...

Sorry for no blog the past two days! I have just been enjoying the wonderful spring weather we have been surprised with here. Now, the word is that tomorrow a storm front will pass through and bring the cold weather back. I hope not!

Hope you are all enjoying your week so far!

The Ice Storm...

Finally!

I have no idea what was wrong with my computer and picture programs the other day. I didn't do anything different this time and it worked fine! Oh well, I hope you guys find the pics interesting after all the hype!

Look at how crooked the telephone pole is.
It is bending from weight of the ice.

I took some pics from the car while we were driving to find some heat, hot water, lights...just electricity in general!

Our salvation during power outages!

See the yellow line.
That is some kind of power cord in our back yard.
(and yes, that is the technical term!)
Anyway, you can see the tree bending from the ice.
I suspect this had something to do with our power loss!

More snow...ugh!

This morning it was snowing big heavy flakes. They are predicting another 1-2 inches. Blech! The kids are in school and the snow has stopped for the time being. I'm just ready for things to get back to normal. I have much to share (including pics of the ice storm) but I just don't feel like it right now.

My Wordless Wednesday from last week was my attempt at an announcement that I will be running the Rock N Roll Marathon with Team in Training in May. I started my training last Saturday (and have been at it each day since) which may account for my lethargy toward the blog. I am getting ready to bundle up and head out for another 3 miles today. When I get my TNT web site in order I will pass the link onto you all to check out. I need all my friends' support to get this done, so send a virtual cheer my way!

That's me on the left with one of our coaches, Tammy!

Snow day...

I just had to tell a story from today. My kids haven't been in school yet this week . They already know they don't have school tomorrow. Oh, the joys of being a kids, huh? I'm glad I don't have to take them out in the snow and ice!

Anyway, they went out and played in the snow in spurts early this afternoon. After lunch Mr. T, RED and Kitty went back out for a couple of hours (Crazy, I know!). Anyway at 5:00 I told RED that they will need to come in soon. She said OK and went back out. At 5:15, I called for them. No response. 5:20 I called again. Still nothing. At 5:25 one of the neighborhood girls came asking if I'd seen them. Nope I hadn't. Alright, time to send out Big Brother. JJ got bundled up and went to find them. Once they were all home, and covered with ice, from the freezing rain, I sent them to get changed into dry clothes and then called them down for a hot drink.

Here's where the story takes a comedic (at least to me) turn. I mixed a mug of Apple-Cinnamon Thera-Flu for each of them.
Hey, all of them were already congested, coughing and then they went out in that weather? Sorry, Mama know best. Of course, they all complained it tasted weird. I told them it was Cider! And you know what, they bought it! Ha Ha! That's what you get for running off where I can't find you! I made them drink at least half a mug. It took the girls about half an hour to finish theirs and I ended up calling my Evil Stepmother Witch's Potion!

We laughed about that, but they finished their potion cider. And now they feel better!
See...

And if you wondering, No it's not any fun for me when they come back in...

Back to the laundry room...Ahh, motherhood! ;)

Snow

We got a dusting of snow today. Nothing to affect the day's activities, but the way it was falling created a beautiful landscape! I wasn't able to get a lot of pics, but I did get a couple.

I love the way the snow literally just dusted the trees. Beautiful!

Speaking of trees, I finally got our Christmas tree put away tonight. We have so much room now!

104 hours....

without power is what we dealt with. We got our power back last night at about 8 pm. It had been out since Sunday at noon!

Now I am swimming in dirty laundry and my Google reader has over 200 new posts to read!

Ok, ok, I admit they are not all blog posts. I am also subscribed to People.com and Babyrazzi. Babyrazzi is great if you like pics of celebrity babies and mamas.

I suggest all both of my faithful readers to check it out while you anxiously await my next post!

NO POWER!

I am sitting in a booth at Buffalo Wild Wings with my computer using their Wi-Fi to post this brief message. We have been without power since about noon on Sunday. If you are wondering that is about 74 hours!!!!

On our way here we finally saw some utility company trucks and the gas station about 2 miles from us has their power back. We are hoping that means we will get power back tonight. That doesn't mean we'll have internet access, but that's OK because I now have a mountain of laundry to tackle.

And finally, our kids have been out of school so far this week. Talk about needing some entertainment...HELP!!!
